Does God Care About Fantasy Football?

Does God care about fantasy football? That’s a very interesting question.

I believe that God cares about me. As a result of that, I believe that God cares about what I care about. The caveat, of course, being that God will not partner with me in my sin.

So, in that sense, God cares about fantasy football because I care about fantasy football.

2018 Fantasy Football | Draft #3

Here is the last of my 3 fantasy football drafts for 2018.

This league, the Frasca Cheap Skate Fantasy Football League (FCSFL), has been around since 1999. It is a 12 team league made up of people who work at Frasca International. It is close to a “standard” PPR scoring league with bonuses for long TDs.

While I enjoy all 3 leagues that I am in, this is my favorite primarily because I see everyone in this league almost every day at work.

2018 Fantasy Football | Draft #2

Sorry for the late post.  This is the 2nd of 3 leagues that I am in.  This league, the World Football League (WFL), has been around since the 80s.  I’ve been involved since 1999.  It is a scoring only league, making it a little more challenging to prepare for than a traditional fantasy football league that includes points for yards, receptions, TD, etc. It also has a fixed roster, meaning you must roster 3 QB, 5 RB, 6 WR / TE, 2 PK, and 2 DEF. No flexibility allowed. 😦

2018 Fantasy Football | Draft #1

It’s that time of year again: Fantasy Football season here!!!

Last night, I had my 1st draft of the year (of 3 leagues that I am in). This league, the Frasca Fantasy Football League (FFFL), has been around since 1995. 😦

2011 Vineyard Fantasy Football Draft Recap

This is my second year in the Vineyard Fantasy Football League run by my campus pastor, Adam. This was my first fantasy football draft of 2011. I have to admit that I wasn’t as prepared as I would have liked to be. Overall, my team’s OK, but I’m not that excited about it. It’s good enough to win, but it’s not exciting.

WFL 2008 – My Team

The is my 3rd of 3 fantasy football teams. Like my last draft, this league is also scoring only: 10 pts for a TD, 20 pts for a long TD (50+ yds). FG are 5 pts for 0-39 yds, 10 pts for 40-49 yds, 15 pts for 50-59 yds, and 20 pts for those rare 60+ yds. KR/DEF are 20 pts for TD (KR, PR, int, or fumble recovery) and 5 pts for safety.

Here’s my team:
Campbell, Jason WAS QB
Kitna, Jon DET QB
Palmer, Carson CIN QB
James, Edgerrin ARI RB
McFadden, Darren OAK RB
Peterson, Adrian MIN RB
Rice, Ray BAL RB
Williams, Ricky MIA RB
Bowe, Dwayne KCC WR
Bruce, Isaac SFO WR
Holt, Torry STL WR
Houshmandzadeh, T.J. CIN WR
Marshall, Brandon DEN WR
Williams, Roy DET WR
Bryant, Matt TBB PK
Scobee, Josh JAC PK
Steelers, Pittsburgh PIT Def
Texans, Houston HOU Def

Brandon Marshall DEN WR is my only common player. This draft was the strangest of them all. I had the 9th overall pick (out of 10). Adrian Peterson MIN RB slipped all the way down to me in the 1st round. Then in the 2nd round (where I got a double pick), I took a bit of a risk and took Carson Palmer CIN QB and TJ Houshmanzadeh CIN WR. If CIN gets back on track, this could be an OUTSTANDING team. If not, then I wasted my 2nd round picks.

I’ve got a decent backup QB in Jon Kitna. I’m pretty solid at RB and at WR. Again, I waited on PK and DEF to near the end. They’re ok, but not necessarily outstanding.

FGFFL 2008 – My Team

This is the 2nd of 3 fantasy football teams. Our league is scoring only: 10 pts for a TD, 20 pts for a long TD (50+ yds).

Cutler, Jay DEN QB
Garrard, David JAC QB
Pennington, Chad MIA QB
Graham, Earnest TBB RB
Hall, Andre DEN RB
Jones-Drew, Maurice JAC RB
Turner, Michael ATL RB
Young, Selvin DEN RB
Bowe, Dwayne KCC WR
Colston, Marques NOS WR
Jackson, DeSean PHI WR
Johnson, Calvin DET WR
Marshall, Brandon DEN WR
Owens, Terrell DAL WR
Elam, Jason ATL PK
Gostkowski, Stephen NEP PK
Bills, Buffalo BUF Def
Rams, St. Louis STL Def

If you read my previous post, you’ll see some common threads: Jay Cutler DEN QB, Colston, Marques NOS WR, and Marshall, Brandon DEN WR. Yeah, I’m kind of big on Denver this year. So, that being said, I like my starting QB (Cutler), but I don’t have much depth at QB. I feel pretty solid at RB with some depth. However, like my other team, I am strongest at WR – lots of skill and lots of depth. PK and DEF are ok.
