2018 Fantasy Football | Draft #3

Here is the last of my 3 fantasy football drafts for 2018.

This league, the Frasca Cheap Skate Fantasy Football League (FCSFL), has been around since 1999. It is a 12 team league made up of people who work at Frasca International. It is close to a “standard” PPR scoring league with bonuses for long TDs.

While I enjoy all 3 leagues that I am in, this is my favorite primarily because I see everyone in this league almost every day at work.

2018 Fantasy Football | Draft #2

Sorry for the late post.  This is the 2nd of 3 leagues that I am in.  This league, the World Football League (WFL), has been around since the 80s.  I’ve been involved since 1999.  It is a scoring only league, making it a little more challenging to prepare for than a traditional fantasy football league that includes points for yards, receptions, TD, etc. It also has a fixed roster, meaning you must roster 3 QB, 5 RB, 6 WR / TE, 2 PK, and 2 DEF. No flexibility allowed. 😦

2018 Fantasy Football | Draft #1

It’s that time of year again: Fantasy Football season here!!!

Last night, I had my 1st draft of the year (of 3 leagues that I am in). This league, the Frasca Fantasy Football League (FFFL), has been around since 1995. 😦

It Sucks and It Hurts

(From May 2, 2018)

God is good.

God still heals today.

The enemy is real. He still works his evil schemes throughout the Earth.

Sometimes people get sick. Cancer and other life-ending diseases run rampant across our world.

Sometimes bad things happen to good people. Terror attacks, heinous shootings, and tragic accidents take the lives of people we know and love.

Sometimes we pray for people with terminal illnesses and they still die.

It sucks and it hurts.

So Long Chicago Bears

(From May 2, 2017)

As most of you know, I grew up in the St. Louis area. I consider St. Louis to be my “hometown”, and as such, I root for the St. Louis professional sports teams, albeit some more vigorously than others.

Last year marked the first time since 1994 that St. Louis was without an NFL team, which meant I had to find another team to support and call “my own”. Since Champaign is firmly entrenched in Chicago Bear country, it only made sense that I throw my support to Da Bears.

Da Bears

However…

Phase 1 Ends, Phase 2 Begins

12 weeks ago, I began a journey that has been a long-time coming. For all of my life, I have been overweight. I have been told time and again by doctors that I needed to lose weight. Yet, I ignored them because I didn’t want to give up the food that I enjoyed eating.

After a number of life circumstances, not the least of which was a diabetes diagnosis a year ago, I decided it was time to get serious about losing weight. It began at work.

Christmas Eve 2014

Picture these Christmas images:

  • Multitudes of people frantically scrambling around in search of last minutes gifts; often times spending more money than they can really afford to spend.
  • A house decked out in lights with a yard loaded to the hilt with decorations which illuminate the entire block, a la the Clark Griswold home in Christmas Vacation.

  • Wild office parties or family get-togethers with varieties of food and beverages to go along with loads of fun and laughter.

God Singing to Me

I was attending a conference at my church today on the Father’s love (among other things) with speaker Leif Hetland. As we worshipped this morning before Leif spoke, we sang the song Furious by Jeremy Riddle. I sensed God saying, “I am singing this to you (and everyone else here).”

So, here are song lyrics with the pronouns changed as God was singing this to me.
